Sound therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. This practice is an ancient holistic method of working with the body's subtle energy rhythms often leading to profound and long lasting effects. Sound affects us at the conscious and unconscious levels balancing the physical and emotional states of the body and the mind. We now understand that everything in the universe is made of molecules which are vibrating all the time.
By using tools that align with the vibrational resonance of the energy centres of the body (chakras), sound therapy seeks to not only balance, but raise one's vibration which aids in reaching a greater sense of overall stability and wellbeing.
Techniques and tools used by our Sound Therapy practitioner:
Drumming is a tool that has been weaved into the fabric of many cultures around the world for centuries in rituals, ceremonies, communication, rites of passage, music and dance, celebration, healing, community building, and cultural events. Drumming is used in a session to shake up and dislodge stagnant energy that no longer serves the client. This is not a music class, rather submerging oneself to journey along with the beat.
Chakra tuning forks are individually tuned to the Hertz associated with the tone of the seven major chakras. They are used to recalibrate and encourage harmonic balance.
What to expect
Our Sound Therapy practitioner conducts safe, personalized sessions, focusing on client’s wholesome recovery, physical discomfort and/or overall wellbeing. For your session, you will be fully clothed on a treatment table while sound therapy tools/techniques are moving around the body. Your practitioner will utilize a variety of sound therapy techniques and philosophies. As a recipient, you may feel some light headedness, energy shifting, feel lighter, temperature changes or simply find a point of greater relaxation.
Every practitioner will be different in the techniques they use and the style in which they apply them. You may need several visits to reach your overall goals. Often people have ongoing visits for more deep rooted conditions and/or because they are using energy therapy as a preventative tool.
